What's the workshop like?

The Workshop Program with NYCA in partnership with The Rotary Foundation offers a unique opportunity for students aged 15-18 to further develop their choral skills and work with some of Australia’s best young singers, teachers, and conductors. Applications are encouraged from all musicians with a particular interest in choral singing.

The workshop will be held at St John’s Anglican Church Camberwell, Melbourne on Wednesday 10th July, 9:30am - 5pm.

FREE WORKSHOP INCLUDES:

  • An opportunity to rekindle your love for singing and high level musicianship, especiallyfor those who missed out on several years of choral study due to COVID

  • Learn under some of Australia’s leading choral conductors on choral ensemble skills, Michael Fulcher and Liz Scott (NYCA 2023 conductor).

  • Presentations on Vocal Pedagogy: Phonation, Vocal resonation, Diction, vowels, and more

  • Discussions with current NYCAns about the pathway into professional choral singing

  • A performance at the end alongside NYCAns.

  • Music will be provided

  • Lunch will be provided

  • You will receive a complimentary ticket to the National Youth Choir of Australia's 2024 Season Finale concert, conducted by Warren Trevelyan-Jones at St John's Southgate on Saturday 6th of July 2024 at 7:30pm
