Nick Bester

Nick has been involved in choral music for most of his life. He was educated at the Hutchins School where he was deputy-head chorister and choir leader in the school's Chapel Choir, and received a music scholarship for cello. During this time he went to the USA to sing with St Thomas' Church Choir, Fifth Avenue, New York and in Trinity Church Choir, Princeton for a month. He also toured with the Chapel Choir to England singing in major cathedrals. He currently sings in All Saints Church Choir, and the Jane Franklin Consort. He has sung with the TSO Chorus, TUMS and St David's Cathedral Choir. Solo performances include Schütz's Die Weihnachtshistorien and Stravinsky's Mass for mixed chorus and double wind quintet with TUMS, and Haydn's Missa Sancti Nicolai with the Hobart Orpheus Choir. Nick is currently a Computing student at the University of Tasmania, and has a passion for Renaissance sacred music, which makes him great fun at parties.
